New Year. New Attitude?

NewYou-webHow is your attitude these days?

Your attitude—your perspective on your own life’s journey and everything else—is a precious gift from God. When He made you, He gave you the gift of choosing your attitude. Yes, attitude is a choice. By the grace of God, you have the ability to change a negative attitude into a positive.

Is it easy to do? No. Is it possible? Absolutely. “(You) can do everything God asks (you) to with the help of Christ who gives (you) the strength and power.” (Philippians 4:13 TLB)

A new year is almost here. If you’re like most people, you will make some New Year’s resolutions. But, why stop at resolving to change just one or a few things in your life? Why not change EVERYTHING that needs changing?

Yes. That’s possible, too. “When someone becomes a Christian, he (or she) becomes a brand new person inside. He (or she) is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 TLB)

quoteThe key to real, honest-to-goodness change is keeping your focus on Christ. If you focus constantly on trusting in Him and doing your best for Him, you WILL find your attitude changing. In time, you will be the most positive person you know because you will have given all control over to Him, and no matter what happens to you or around you, you will know, without doubt, that everything will turn out all right.

I know. I’ve been there.

In this new year, resolve to give it a try. Resolve to center your thoughts on the Lord, trust that He is always with you and that He is capable of changing you for the better .

“When his people pray for help,
he listens and rescues them
from their troubles.

The Lord is there to rescue
who are discouraged
and have given up hope.

The Lord’s people
may suffer a lot,
but he will always
bring them safely through.”

(Psalm 34:17-19 CEV)

HAPPY NEW YEAR, friends! I’ll see you back here in 2015.

Wonderful post, Jean, and a reminder I needed to hear.

Thank you. I needed to hear that. I have a short fuse with someone I shouldn’t. I react to the words I hear. Please pray that I learn to respond and do it with God’s love.
